Svinneribbe and Mother-Daughter-(dog) Day 2

So last Christmas, I enjoyed the Norwegian dish, Svinneribbe (pork-ribs) so much that I have been craving it ever since. I attempted it once, and ended up burning most of the skin...so I attempted it again this past weekend, when we had family over:
Depending on how you look at it, it's relatively straight-forward to make -- you just have to cut up the skin into little squares, put salt/pepper on the rinds, let it season overnight, and put it in the oven for 2-3 hours. The trick is to get the skin to be nice and crispy...but because I burnt most of the skin the first time around, I was too eager to take it out the second time around... so it was too chewy :(

Is it ready yet?
Not quite!
See how eager I am to take it out?
Oh, good enough~
Meanwhile... George Michael sleeps in my bed
Oh, and my mom made some strawberry-peach jam! It was delicious!
This week, for our mother-daughter day, we decided to take George Michael to a near-by dog park:
It was really lovely -- such lovely nature, George Michael met many friends, we got some exercise done, and it was nice to get such fresh air

George Michael is so popular~

George Michael was in a good mood after a great work-out
Next week, I'm hoping to scope out some galleries or museums with my mom. I really recommend doing this with your mom if you happen to live near them. It's really nice to talk to her about various things in life.

  7. Wow, the dish must be a caloric bomb, but it looks delicious! Now I'm really envious of your mother-daughter days, since I'm doing my whole MSc abroad and I probably won't be able to go back home to see my family more than 4 times a year...
